e-District

e-District is envisaged to be an online platform for electronic delivery of G2C (Government to Citizen) services across the nation. This project is one of Mission Mode Projects (MMPs), initiated by Government of India (GoI) under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) and an integral concept under the Digital India initiative now. The project would leverage existing e-Governance infrastructures such as the SDC (State Data Centre), CSC (Common Service Centre), SWAN (State Wide Area Network) and SSDG (State Service Delivery Gateway). Initially, a set of 21 high volume services have been identified to be delivered under this project. The project is being made scalable to include additional services going forward. e-District in Tripura is envisaged to define a paradigm shift in G2C service delivery process impacting lives of common man.
The e-District application has already been launched in all the eight districts of Tripura on 31st March 2015 by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura through the portal http://edistrict.tripura.gov.in In this project, a comprehensive automation of backend processes has been adopted with an objective to improve the efficiency, transparency and accountability of the present system. The initiative has provisioned seamless integration of various offices such as Tehsils, Circles, Blocks, SDM and DM offices, providing services to citizen through a common delivery interface.
The information Technology (IT) Act, 2000 provides a legal recognition to transactions carried out by means of electronic data interchange. In this regard, The Tripura Information Technology (Electronic Service Delivery) Rules, 2015 had been notified on 16th March 2015.
In 1st phase of rollout, 13 services of SDM and DM offices have been activated and citizen can apply for the services either by self over internet or in-person mode at the Govt. Office Counters. All the certificates or outputs generated through e-District portal would be Digitally Signed and can be received electronically by e-mail or can be downloaded from the e-District portal or may be collected from e-District Counters.
