REGIONAL SURVEY TRANING INSTITUTE

ARUNDHUTINAGAR, AGARTALA.

Regional Survey Training Institute (RSTI) was founded in the year 1979. The earlier nomenclature of this institute was STATE SURVEY TRAINING INSTITUTE (SSIT) under the control of Director of Land Records and Settlement Department, Govt. of Tripura. Subsequently, it was upgraded as Regional Survey Training Institute, in the year 1993 at A.D Nagar, Agartala. The Regional Survey Training Institute, A.D. Nagar is one of the premier institute in the North Eastern Region. It caters to the needs of survey training for the entire region & to conduct survey training regularly in different courses as per scheduled since inception in the year 1993. Initially, the construction of Institute Building and other infrastructure development etc. was taken up from the fund of  NEC. Now, this Traning Institute is running under the State  fund of Government of Tripura under the control of Director of Land records & Settlement Department.

The Regional Training Institute (RSTI) has started functioning with an objective to train up the service personnel of North Eastern Region on Survey and settlement works with a special attention for imparting training in service personal like as asst. Survey Officer, Kanungo, Revenue Inspector, Supervisor Kanungo, Survey, Amin, Tehsilders etc. who are in service under the state Government. Besides these, the higher level officers like as Indian Administrative Service (IAS) (Probationer), Tripura Civil Service (TCS) (Probationer) are also imparting Training on Land Records, Survey and Settlement in the institute as and when sponsored by the Government. Now, Govt. of India, is envisaged for strengthening & modernize the training pattern and method under NLRMP Scheme in the institute by introducing advanced survey technique such as ETS, GIS, DGPS, Remote sensing etc. A computer Laboratory is also running with 10(ten) computers in this institute for imparting training on CLR.

EXISTING COURSE MODULE:-

      The institute has got facility for training of in-service personal as per the approved schedule training programme and training is being conducted in different batches. The ongoing training programme is consist of the following survey matters like as i) Chain Survey, ii) Plane Table Survey, iii) Compus survey, iv) Theodolite Survey. Besides these, the Land laws of state is teaching in the training classes. Recently the RSTI has launched modern survey on ETS, & DGPS in training schedule.

DURATION OF DIFFERENT COURSES:-   

  1. 6 (six) months refresher training course No 2 junior level (like Amin, Surveyor, Mondal & Tehsilders) in service personnel of N.E. States, 30(thirty) candidates twice in a year.
  2. 3 (three) months training course No.3 for middle level in service personnel (like ASO, R.I, KGO, S.K) etc. of the any states once in a year.
  3. 1 (one)- month refresher training course No. 4 for higher level officers(like IAS. (P), TPS (P). The teaching is given in English. After successfully completion of the training course the trainees are issued certificate.
  4.  Quata for allocation of seats for different States in N.E. Region.

           The concern State Government will sponsor the name of the candidates according to quota of seat to the Principal of the Institute with in the stipulated time framed as shown above.

ACCOMMODATION FOR TRAINEES:-

          There are 60(sixty) seated capacity hostel building for the Gents trainees in the Regional Survey Training Institute. The trainees of NE states are accommodated in the Hostel with free of charges. In addition 2(two) big halls of Hostel building are now being used for dinning and recreation purposes. However, the trainees are to run their mess at their own cost.

          The RSTI has been opened a Modern computer LAB with 10(ten) nos. of Computers for training on CLR. A computer faculty has already been engaged on contractual basis for the training for giving basic computer knowledge on CLR.

         Hence, it is now the need of the hour to formulate a new course module based on the modern survey method under NLRMP at RSTI. This course module is to be designed in such a way so that it may serve the requirement of trainin on various categories of revenue officials namely.

  1. for higher level officers,
  2. for middle level officers,
  3. for junior level officials.

 

FACILITY:-

  1. At present the existing faculty are 4(four) Nos. out of which 3(three) for on Survey & Settlement and on ETS & DGPS and 1(one) for computer faculty. Now requirement as guest faculty / Lecturer on ETS & DGPS & survey knowing are 3(three) nos. and Computer faculty are 2(two) nos. under NLRMP.
  2. Apart from to meet up the demand of further Manpower Resources it may be taken up as a Resource  Person from the eligible fresh Surveyor ? computer knowing Graduate who are well trained up & equipped with survey and Digitized Map training in course No. IV from RSTI.

     In the administrative block of RSTI there are 2(two) numbers of classroom with the capacity of 30 Nos. of trainees in each class situated in first floor.

     In the 1st floor of the administrative building there is one library room.

     At present there are 2(two) rooms are available at 1st floor of the administrative building of Block “A” Out of which 1(one) is using as faculty room and another is using as storeroom.

HOSTEL FACILITIES:-

          The RSTI complex is comprising of 60(sixty) badded hostel where the trainees hailed from N.E. states and accommodated in the hostel free of cost. Besides these, 2(two) big hall are  now being used for dinning and recreation purpose. The trainees are to run their mess by own accord.
